I'm not going to play guitar anymore. Based on this video, I was never playing guitar anyway.  Embarrassed

She is amazing! The ease in which she plays a full sized guitar is incredable.  Cool

Considering she's from North Korea I wonder if she's doing this out of her own free will or if she is forced to practise every day by that glorious regime they have... Talented nevertheless.

No one can be forced to have such exceptional talent.
The most anyone can do is  nurture it to its maimum.

As a former guitar player she has natural talent IMO.

I've seen a lot of young musical prodigies, and one thing most of them have in common is that they're a bit robotic. Most little kids just can't appreciate the complex emotional nuances of something composed by an adult, and bring that "feeling" to it. I'll bet even little Mozart, as proficient as he was, seemed like a wind-up toy when he first hit the scene.

But a prodigy is always gifted, and the gifts are apparent. This girl has great hands, has obviously  worked very hard on the guitar, and knows her way around the neck... we'll see where she takes it.

Quite right Sean. I just wish I had half the ability.

He sure looked robotic as a young boy when playing for the Pope in the movie Amadeus.

Yep, time to take up the kazoo.  OK, as an accomplished guitarist, including classical, here's my take on this:

Better than very good.  Proper and excellent technique on both hands.  And of course, needless to say, a young person doing it.   I did not recognize the piece she's playing, but it's not improvised, rather, played note-for-note from a score, and very musical also, not just hammered out.  Sounds like 1800's guitar composer era, definitely originally written for guitar, not a keyboard transcription.

Now I know why I now play harpsichord.

Thanks for that.

Why should I be the only one to feel intimidated? Roll Eyes
