is it flyable?
Of course it flies, and beautifully. It just looks like it's ready for the graveyard.
The P-36 flies too. Thanks again for the heads up. $14 each is a heck of a deal for these.
Thanks for looking.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Cool shots. (dang, I find myself saying that alot lately!) That's what I wish painters would do more of. "As real as it gets" isn't all that real looking if your granddaddy-old bird looks like it just rolled off the line. Old planes NEED dirt, oil and exhaust stains, and chips in the paint.
I digress. The perspective of number two is making me ill, but in a good way!

Great shots
How do you like the P-36?
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

I agree with you, to a point. But, I can't help but think of all the absolutely gorgeous restored birds you see so many pictures of and at fly ins etc. that look so shiny and factory fresh. I think we need a certain percentage of both.
Sorry about the perspective, can't help you with that.

Thanks.
The price and models were just too hard to resist. And I think it may be the best deal I have ever gotten as to value for cost.

I doubt that is a permanent situation.

Thanks Chuck.
Almost as much as the Bearcat. It is very nice and has similar features, but you use shift + 4 instead of cntl + 4. I still have a lot of
reading
studying to do on both. This is where I really wish I had a photographic memory.
