With Xmas quickly approaching, my mother (bless her) asked if I would like the latest version of X-Plane as a gift. (Don't roll your eyes at me, you're never to old to get cool toys from your folks around the holidays!)

I tried FSX, and wasn't happy with it's performance on my machine, and I gave the X-Plane demo a shot and thought it was interesting, but you can't tell much from a time limited demo.

My main concerns are with add-ons. With FS9, I've tweeked and tuned every part of the sim I've been able to get my mitts on, and I've gotten it "juussstt riiiigghtt". Will I be able to do this with "X-P"?

I've recently started using 9 and I was impressed with the fact that you can import FS9/x sceneries in.
I'm still getting to grips with it but loving it Wink

Yes, it is worth it.

You can download the demo to try it from the main X-plane website.

And also, the newest X-plane is version 9, but version 10 is coming out within the next few months. In my opinion you should wait for that.

(also many of the pictures of the aircraft in the link are X-Plane 10 aircraft running in X-Plane 9)

Thanks for the HU. I tried the demo, and I liked what I saw. (five minutes at a time, that is). Yup, I may just wait for 10. I watched the video on the link you posted. Any great chef will tell you that presentation is 80% of the meal. That vid looks like a lot of "presentation" to me. That not withstanding, it still looks very impressive! ( I caught myself saying "Whoa" outloud!)

Thanks again guys!
