but would you all mind telling me how to replace guages via the notepad?

Open Panel.cfg in Notepad & scroll down to the [VCockpitxx] sections. This example is [VCockpit02]. The gauges are listed by file name. These are all default cluster gauges that contain one or more sub-gauges. The
gauge name
(in this case Cessna.dll) is followed by an exclamation mark ! & then the name of the
sub-gauge
.

size_mm=512,512
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$C172s_2
background_color=0,0,0

gauge00=
Cessna
!
Heading_Indicator
,                 0,  0,163,162
gauge01=Cessna!Turn_Indicator,                  164,  0,158,158
gauge02=Bell_206B!Attitude,                       323,  0,158,158
gauge03=Cessna!Altimeter,                         0,163,158,156
gauge04=Cessna172!Airspeed,                     164,159,155,155
gauge05=Cessna!Vertical_Speed,                  323,159,156,157
gauge06=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP,   0,321,258, 77
gauge07=Cessna172!Tachometer,                   260,318,143,143
gauge08=Cessna172!Clock,                          0,400, 86, 86
gauge09=Cessna!Flaps,                            88,400, 78,105

To swap a gauge simply change the name of the gauge. You must get it exactly right. The entry can be copied from another Panel.cfg or to make it easier I suggest downloading the Demo version of FS Panel Studio. This will give you a list of all the gauges installed to FSX. FSPS has a handy Swap gauges feature (Edit > Swap). This works in the Demo but you can't save changes. If you select a gauge you can see the file name & what it will look like.

If you like FSPS you can purchase it later if you wish.

sorry, i know i was very unclear yesterday, had a busy day.
what i was trying to say was ---> Is it possible to put guages in diffent places in the cockpit where there is nothing? (e.g. the right side of the panel on the defult C172... but for the virtual cockpit).

Open the C172 panel in FS Panel Studio. Click Window & select VCockpit01 or VCockpit02.

...

To swap a gauge first click on it to select it. Then click Edit & select Swap.

No. As I told you before you can only swap existing gauges.

Tell me one thing. You've seen add-on textures for almost every default aircraft before, right? It's completely legal, and I see no reason why it wouldn't be.  Cool

Happy uploading!  Cheesy

It's always a good idea to check before doing something for the first time.  Wink I don't blame you. Sounds like something I would have asked back when I was learning how to edit aircraft.

Cool
