From a personal perspective, I think I know which emergency I'd prefer to have to deal with, and it certainly wouldn't be any indications of smoke or a potential fire in the radio-electrics bay, even against an uncontained engine failure (at least you know how very unserviceable that engine's just become!

) which of course is partly mitigated against in aircraft with wing mounted single podded engines.
