Finally sprung for Holger and Bill's "Tongass Fjords" so here's my first solo.

Just off 29 at Sitka headed for Angoon.

...

Making good time but about get "unsure of my position" - translation, lost.

...

Sitting up here, trying to make what I see look like the map.

...

Returning to my last known position.

...

Great shots.....the last one is my favorite, the water looks amazing Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Part of the instructions state that if you don't use their water, you'll wish you had.  It's certainly lively.

No problem Dave...I knew exactly where you were because I recognised that tree.... Grin

Used to pull that line when flying over the bush and a passenger would ask how I knew where we were as I did not have a map out and could fly too most camps with my eye's closed.... Grin

I would always tell them "I recognised that tree" pointing out the window to nothing but lakes and trees... Grin

You should have seen the looks on some of their faces... Smiley

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
P.S. Makes a fella want to spit when his smart ass kids pull that stunt on him.... Tongue
