Took me 7 years to figure out XP and it still perplexes me at times. Then they go and improve it?  Grin I  may not have enough time to learn another OS for pity sakes.... Grin Huh

..whilst the rest of us were enjoying the delights of Windows '98, and flying around the skies courtesy of Uncle Bill's Flight Sim '98 and FS 2000.... Smiley...!

Hey, I was perfectly fine on FS98. After FS2004 I started to ask questions, and by FSX I had started to investigate them for myself  Grin

If you were brought up on the delights and ease of touring the innards of Win XP then you will find that Win 7 is a whole new ball-game...!

I had to revert everything back to Classic Win '98/XP mode; Pop-up Window layouts, Folder sizes and types, colours, etc, etc...before I could begin to understand it....

Many of the quick, simple operations you were familiar with in XP, no longer exist in Win 7!

If you enjoyed tinkering with the inner workings of Win XP then you can forget doing the same with Win 7...
...it was designed for Mum to play "Minesweeper" on, with the screens displaying a glorious shade of pink!
...trust me... Wink...!

Win XP is designed for the Mechanics amongst us.
Win 7 is designed for the Masses outside, in the ordinary World.

I have a computer dedicated to FS (and a few other games) that uses Win XP. I made it the dedicated "game" computer because it is a few years old, but runs FS9 very well. I also happened to want a notebook computer just because I have always wanted one. So I bought this new notebook and it has windows 7 on it. The difference is night and day! I prefer XP over 7 just for the level of control that you have. Like Fozzer was saying, win 7 seems to be made for the masses that don't know anything about computers. Dumbed down is the term that I would use.
