I downloaded the FS9 update 9.1. When I install it, I get an error message:

...

Followed by:

...

Any ideas as to what's causing this?  Sad

Cool

It would help to know what Operating System you are using - XP, Vista or Win 7 ?

This link explains the error message:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894732

The most common reason for the error message is an incorrect entry in the Registry regarding the path to your FS2004 installation.

Rather than try to manually edit the Registry (always a dangerous thing to do) I recommend that you use the free Registry Repair tool from the good folks at Flight1 to correct that entry:

http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library

Make the correction and then reboot your computer and then try the update once again.

Keep us posted please.

Be sure you have your "permissions" set so you can make such updates. You may have to turn off UAC (User Account Comtrol) temporarily when you try the update.

And please check my earlier reply as I have added some important info to it.

Article didn't work.  Sad The download finishes with the correct file size and the regedit method didn't work.

I used to be a mechanic many years ago, and one of the things I learned from that job, is when diagnosing an issue, you start with the easiest things first. So don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure you need the update? FS9 releases after a certain date already had the patch installed.
