Can someone explain to me what I've heard called the 'jet warp issue' or 'warp bug' in CFS2?

The jet warp issue or warp bug, as it is better known, refers to arriving at the next waypoint in your jet aircraft after a WARP with your engine sputtering and out of fuel.  If you are flying with Unlimited Fuel selected, you will not experience this problem.   Cheesy

Now this can happen for one of two reasons:

- You WARPED with your throttle wide open over a distance so far that you actually ran out of fuel.  Cry

OR

- You are a true victim of the Warp Bug.  Cry

This bug only occurs in jets using the FS2000 engine, or the FS98 engine with a lot of FS2000 entries remaining in the AIR file.

The Solution is fairly simple.   Replace the FS2000 engine in the AIR file with the FS98 engine, and remove all FS2000 entries from that file EXCEPT the CFS/FS2000 fuel tanks and the FS2000 Vacuum System.  If the plane already has the FS98 engine, then remove the FS2000 entries as above.  Wink

If you need more information, or want help with a specific aircraft, let me know. Cool

The AIR files of the jets in the Fox Four Korean campaigns are good examples of those that are Warp Bug Free.....the player aircraft, not the AIs.

Here is an example shot of an AIR file that will not be a victim of the WARP BUG.   This is from the Fox Four F-86E.  Please note that the engine is the FS98 version (600 series entries) and that the only FS2000 entries remaining are the fuel tanks (500 series) and the vacuum system (1512).   Smiley
