Goodly morning all...

The old girl is almost ready to go and get saved at church, I am staying home, several important things to do like post on the Simviation Forums...       

Well to-day is Halloween here in the colony, October 31st and the children dress as goblins, witches, monsters, cowboys etc. etc. and will go out this evening as soon as it get's dark.
From home to home they will travel, knocking on doors and asking "Trick or Treat".   

Much effort is put into their costumes and many home owners also decorate their homes and dress in a costume to greet them.  It is awesome to see.
There was competition to see who had the best most gruesome costume amongst our children when growing up and the old girl would dress up and follow them about with her broom...
Halloween dances and small class parties still happen in some schools which is a lot of fun for the children.

We bought a box of chips about forty-eight in all and put them in the Main Lobby where Security will hand them out tonight.
When we lived on the old homestead we would make all kinds of things like candy apples and different types of candy, fudge and rice krispie squares with our name and phone numer attached.
That way the parents knew where the goodies came from.   

Halloween is big business now with over a billion dollars in revenue here, not bad for one night...

Well I bet the Moderators are all dressed in their costumes and getting ready in their dungeon here at Simviation to do nasty bad things to the rest of us later this evening.      
All I can say to the newer members is unplug your electronic gizmo and hide in the closet when it get's dark...

..a recent program on my Radio stated that Halloween in England is no longer popular as it used to be in the past.
Its often more of an annoyance to many people, who make their feelings known by sticking warning messages on their front doors....(I have a camouflaged Bear Pit in my front path).... ...!

...and there is always the worry about young children roaming the streets in the darkness of the evening, (which is why my Bear Pit is camouflaged).

It is much more popular in the USA, according to reports...
...so you can keep it...over there....Thank-you... ...!

Good evening all...

Well we were down to the Main Lobby several times tonight and the final count was just past 230 children for the evening....

Lots of great costumes, store bought and home made with a lot of effort and imagination included.

I can see lots of goodies left over for those that like sweets, potatoe chips, cheesies, gum etc. etc and placed in the Common Room.   

Many parents had on costumes that matched the themes their children were dressed for so it was quite interesting.

My "other" job is stocking 7up shelves in various stores all day. While I was out and about I would see people in costume and at first forget that it was Halloween and think "wow, what a weirdo!".

Halloween costumes aren't just for kids you know. A few years ago, my friends as I all went to a costume contest/party at a bowling ally. Before hand, I was on my way to pick up one of my friends and give him a ride to the party. I called and asked if he had his costume ready, he said " no, I still don't know what I want to dress as" I told him he had better figure it out because I would be there in five minutes. When I got there he came out dressed as the Pope. It was a very simple, yet effective costume. He ended up winning the costume contest that night with something that he threw together in five minutes.
