Goodly morning all....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThanksgivingTo-day,Monday, October 11th, 2010 is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada and what a beautiful morning it is. The Fall or Autumn colours are beautiful.
There is hardly a ripple on the bay and the river is just like glass. There are a few white puffie wuffies in the sky but other than it has been a beautiful sunrise and the rest of the day should be in the high 60s or low 70s in temperature.
The military C17s, Hercs, Airbuses, King Airs, Twin Otters and several different types of helicopters have finally gone to the hangars and their pilots to breakfast or to bed. The last several days and nights they have been flying almost all day and night long.
Even the airlines were coming here and doing touch and goes.
The approach would bring them in front of several of our windows and one could easily wave to the crews.
Well we are going to our oldest son's home or the old homestead to-day for a Thanksgiving Feast of turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, corn, peas, salads with all the trimmings and lots of different deserts.
Not sure how many are sitting down for dinner as they seem tight lipped about the whole affair. Even the old girl is not talking much about this, she knows something but not telling me.

I wonder if I am getting a present? HMMM
I have been good all year.
We intend to do a little flying in the C185 with a few water take-offs and landings followed by several landings at a local bugsmasher field to chew the rag a bit...

My son is going to have it taken off the amphibs and the wheel/skis put back on.
The old girl is going out in the C172 so it will be a long great day for us.
I believe we are staying overnight as there will be some wobbly pop to drink, I don't want it to go bad you know...

Well that is our plans to-day for Thanksgiving which is probably the second most celebrated holiday in Canada after my favourite....Christmas...

Lot's going on locally and throughout the country so hope you or who ever else celebrates Thanksgiving to-day you all enjoy yourselves......

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
