What is this "Fly-ins Lobby" of which you speak?....

Is it, by any chance, our FSX/FS 2004 Simviation Multiplayer Server which we use? ....>>>

Paul,
Looks like this one is not compatible with users using FS2004.
I recommend that FSX users simply connect to SimV's server through FSHost so users of either sim can fly together.

Looks like he's using Zulu time as well, which in your case would be equivalent to your local time I believe. (Same thing as GMT)

As mentioned in another thread, I won't be able to do the multiplayer activities for a couple weeks yet.

Ta for the info, Sean...

I did look out for Angus' last flight, via the Sim V Server...but nothing...

Your "EST" AM/PM times work out well, as they appear at the bottom of my Browser, and compare with my Local Time...
...Sorted!
Maybe this "Lobby" thing allows direct Radio and ATC communication between on-line flyers?...(special to FSX?).

Paul,
Simply put, he's using Gamespy in FSX. It allows voice communication on a host specified frequency in game. Again, I recommend using FSHost (in concert with Teamspeak if you want voice) so both sims can participate.

The very first thing I noticed, as soon as I purchased FSX when it was first released, was that I could no longer connect to Multiplayer within the Sim, with the same ease that FS 2004 allowed me to do with FS Host....
...!
From that day on, I have always used my FS 2004 for all my Solo and Multiplayer flights, which is a shame, as FSX was/is probably very good for Multiplayer Flights?...
..its just the Multiplayer interface, or lack of it, in FSX, which creates the difficulty...(ie: Gamespy?).

In the olden (Dial-up) days...
..., using FS 2002, we could host/connect with each others Flights using our individual IP Addresses..it worked reasonably well (Providing the Address didn't change during the Session!)...

Now that Chocolatesoft/FSHost has an FSX compatible system, it's pretty easy to connect to the SimV server using FSX, but a number of concessions unfortunately have to be made.
Drawbacks of FSX & non-Gamespy (ie. FSHost) usage:
-FSX must be in windowed mode if you want to have a chat window available.
-Sound cuts out when accessing chat window.
-Aircraft update rates/fluidity is very poor when looking at other users. Even if another user is using FSX, with an FSHost connection, the other user's aircraft will appear to be jumping around quite a bit.
Benefits (with FSHost and FSX):
-You can use the default ATC services and your own AI in FSX.
Note/Drawback:
The ATC will
not
recognize other online users, and you will not hear them on the frequency. Also, other users will not see your AI.
-You can set another user's aircraft to display as whatever you want by right clicking their name and choosing a model from your own aircraft library.
Gamespy
Benefits:
-Centralized listing of any servers that are online. Much variety in what you want to join.
-Built in voice communications using the actual avionics stack in your aircraft.
-Fluid update rates for all surrounding aircraft, enabling formation flights, races, etc.
-Shared cockpit capability. (That's fun!)
Drawbacks:
-Needs Gamespy account.
-Notorious connection issues, which can either prevent users from connecting at all, or kicks users randomly off of FSX's multiplayer component.
-Inability to fly with users of FS2004.
-Different online system from what websites such as SimV use, which from my understanding means that you cannot connect to SimV's flight server through Gamespy. Not 100% certain of this though.
