Sorry if I'm not giving enough details but I don't know what to call it. It's the audio reporting with the green bar with text scrolling at the top of the page. How do I cut it off? I don't remember pressing anything to start it and it will not stop.

Thanks in advance.

It's definitely in one of the settings, because I was able to turn mine off. Only have access to FS2004 at the moment, and I believe unchecking "Show ATC text" will nix it. Keep in mind that you're going to have to get used to actually listening to ATC since the text will not appear.

Just to be sure we're on the same page, I'm not talking about the chatter from ATC and the text seen in the box when you press the button above the TAB key, It's more like a weather report with audio and a green bar across the top of the screen.

I know what you're talking about. I think that's your only option though. I could be wrong but at least that's what I am seeing with 2004 right now.

if you ever start hearing the weather station and see the green bar thats because your com1 radio is tuned to the airports weather information. just open up ur Communications panel and just change the frequency of the com1 and that will stop the chatter, its easy and it works every time

hope that helps  Smiley

That's the cure... Smiley...!

The Com1 Radio is tuned to ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) of the local Airport.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Terminal_Information_Service

Tune the Com 1 Radio to a different frequency, and it will cancel it, as Razgriz suggested.

Once you start to use ATC services, the Com 1 frequency will be automatically changed en-route.

ATIS is useful to tune to, prior to landing at the nearby Airfield, to obtain local weather conditions, guidance, and general airfield instructions.
