I've never dl'd any payware, but was looking at the Cpt Sim 727 package.

I'm interested in learning what IS attractive in the package for the price??

I'm also interested in others payware packages if one is superior.

Any experience?  Or am I better to just stick with freeware???
Thank you. Tongue

This past summer, CptSim had a half-price sale so I bought my first tube - the 727.  Not bad, appearance wise - didn't care much for the flight dynamics but, for $9.95, it was a good deal.  It's a port-over from their FS9 model and I don't know if this new package is true FSX - 'caveat emptor'.

Yep, real FSX model.

My not-so-humble-opinion:  The 727 is a "gamer's plane",  You push the throttle forward and take off into the sky.  Depending on what you are looking for, or perhaps if you are interested in making Youtube videos, this might suit your entertainment needs perfectly.
If you are into flight planning and tables and charts, and watching the airplane perform to those, it probably isn't what you are looking for.

Well if you want realism, go for A2A Simulations: http://www.a2asimulations.com/
I've never bought anything from Cap. Sim, but like everyone's said, they don't seen like they are big on realism, but great for looks.

So it's all in your preferences.

Cannot agree with you on this, Captain Sim addons are top notch when it is about realizm - their C-130, 757 and 707 are definitely the best on the market. 've heard this from real worls pilots.

The original poster inquired about the Captain Sim 727 X.  I stand by my comments regarding this product.  This was one of the very few payware planes that struck me as so dissapointing that I banished it from my hard drive.  The plane doesn't even have an OAT guage!!!!  For simmers concerned with "realism" and who know anything about actual flying, that should tell you a lot.  If you enjoy this product, good for you, many people are very very happy with the 727 X, and I'm happy for them; But don't tell me and the rest of the flight sim community that it is "realistic" especially when compared to the products being offered by PMDG, FSLabs, and A2A.  Is it better and more in-depth than the default airliners??  Sure, you bet it is, and that might be what the Original Poster is looking for.  If so, then get it.

As far as other Captain Sim products go, It wouldn't be fair for me to comment on them because I don't own them.

To CoalPeddlar:  I recommend the Jetstream 41 by PMDG;  If you are ready to have your socks knocked off by just how complex and "realistic" things can be, go for the MD-11 instead, and get yourself an extra set of printer ink, and 4 reams of paper to print the manual.

I have their 727 and C-130 as well as the Xload pack.
The '130 is amazing and everything is clickable(the windshield wipers are fun)! Smiley
Havn't had much time to play with the 727 but it looks really good from the short hops I have taken.
Xload, not their best work. Tongue

The 757 is NOT complex, and the FMC is sloppy and overly aggressive.

...and the 727, I noticed the throttles were tied to the wrong engines. I posted on their forums, they deleted my post, and that was the end of that.

CaptainSim is NOT worth more than $15 an aircraft.
