Hi, I want to start piecing together a dedicated system for FSX.  I've read how CPU intensive FSX is, and while I'd like to get as good a system as I can,  affordability is still a consideration. I'm looking at two different CPUs and I'd like to see if anyone has some specific experience or knowledge on one or the other.
While looking at CPUs on Newegg, The AMD Phenom II Six 1090T 3.2ghz looks pretty impressive, especially for the price for six core.
The other option is an Intel i7 875k 2.93ghz, which is in the same general price point. The intel is a quad core, but has more L3 cache and support for hyper threading.

On most benchmark sites I've looked at the Intel chip benchmarks a little higher than the AMD, but the AMD is cheaper, and has six cores.   Intel chip seems to run alot hotter when OC'ed to around 4Ghz or higher, while the AMD does not.
In regards to FSX however, would there be a benefit to the six cores versus four?   Which would you start with and why?
