..just had a peek...

On the default Mooney Bravo, Bendix-King Radio Stack, there is no provision for an ADF module, neither is there an ADF gauge instrument on the panel....(unfortunately).
It only contains NAV/COM Radio Stacks, and Panel NAV Gauges.

Paul..G-BPLF..FS 2004..FS Nav... Cool...!

The Mooney IFR panel does have ADF added (it is missing on the reagular panel.cfg).

You could try using the IFR panel and/or adding the approriate data to the regular panel.cfg file.

....I can see why I never got around to using the IFR Panel on the Mooney, David... Roll Eyes...

...you cant see where you are going!... Shocked... Grin...!

The ADF Module could be added to the "VFR" Bendix King Stack Panel quite easily..but a blank space needs to be found on the Panel for the ADF Instrument Gauge.. Cry...!

You could put it in a pop-up window.

Buggar!...

Now you tell me, after I've just drilled a hole in the Instrument panel... Angry...!

Paul... Grin...!

(Excellent idea, for that rather cramped Panel, Doug!)

You are so right about the IFR panel -

I just edited my regular panel.cfg for the Mooney and added the ADF.

1. Make a backup of the panel.cfg first of course.

2. Using Notepad, open the panel.cfg and make the following edits to [Window01]:

[Window01]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,308

position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Audio, 0, 0
gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0, 29
gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 2, 0, 86
gauge03=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio ADF, 0, 142
gauge04=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 0, 180
gauge05=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 0, 217
gauge06=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0, 262

Save your work and you will now have the ADF as well the regular radio items.

Works for me!

..that's it, David!

Sometimes, after adding modules, etc, to the Radio Stack and Panel, I find I also need to modify the [aircraft.cfg] File as follows:

[Radios]
// Radio Type = available, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1       = 1
Com.1         = 1, 1
Com.2         = 1, 1
Nav.1         = 1, 1, 1
Nav.2         = 1, 1, 0
Adf.1         = 1
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1      = 1

..to enable ALL the modules... Smiley...!

Paul.... Cool...!

You are quite correct Paul - I had checked the aircraft.cfg before posting the "fix" and noted that the ADF was already active - just failed to mention it.

Seems MS just "forgot" to include the AFD originally.

BTW -

I have sent a PM to the OP suggesting that he should not have his e-mail address as his user name.

That just invites spammers to use it.

Fozz... If you have the F16.GAU and FSUIPC Reg Key for it, you could try to squeeze it into your 2" hole in the dash board... that is if you have the room.   That way you can see where the AI (or multiplayer - yes it works in FSHOST connected multiplayer) is so that you can find your friends or other AI.

just a thought.

Hello Cap'n.... Wink..!

Actually, something I hadn't though of at the time was Doug's excellent suggestion for including a "pop-up Gauge", to display a Gauge when there is no room for it on the 2D Panel, (similar to the pop-up Radio Gauges).
I love adding extra bits and pieces to my 2D Panels with the help of a simple Paint program to give me the X-Y coordinates, to position them on the Panel... Smiley...!
My trusty Piper Cub contains a complete set of Bendix-King Radio Stack Modules, together with VOR and NDB gauges....Radio Altimeter...
...and Autopilot...
.....and a Coffee-Maker...(Blonde)... Kiss...!

Paul.... Wink... Grin...!

P.S. My "FS Navigator" gives me real-time locations of on-line Multiplayer Pilots.... Cool...!

just thought I would offer the suggestion to fill the empty space.  I also have a round, "Crosswind" gauge that will tell you just how much crab you need to stick your landing.

First, I'd like to thank everyone for all your responses.
I've been on computers since they were invented but was never good at the inner workings of them so I will just do without the ADF because I will probably screw something up.  I really appreciate all your replies though. This site is one of the best on the web!
