I'll try and see If I can get and answer here ,which I have posted in aircraft & 3d design..
I'm making an MD 83 ,got couple questions
how are these are being hold??. I know in the 707 and 727 and default FSX 737 there where in the edges and even the citations like this for example
but from what I see
HERE
and some other photos ,these parts are completely separated, so what it holding them?
,I can't see what does it make it moves
I can see little sticks in here, from the flaps to the wings (like the lead edge) But I'm not sure

and
Does anybody know where are the Taxi lights,I know there are two bulls in the landing gear ,but most of the planes I see have Two pairs of bulb landing and taxi

What you circled is the fairing that covers the arms that hold and move the flaps.

You have no idea ,How much My Doubt have cost me , see ,the animation did never have sense to me , ,in all my jet models ,there always been this Unknown too me matter ,if you see the 707 ,citations etc the animation of the flaps are something that looks more beautiful than realistic ,I'm trying to be very accurate this time ,Now I understand the way they move and HOW they move ,because this was the pain in the but HOW THEY MOVE? and not to make something that moves down without sense.
This is why I said in the "I assume"in the circled shot because I began to look another models trying to understand this time this movement
Thank you

By the way, the "sticks" you're talking about are hydraulic rams.

It has a nice close-up photo of that pressure relief vent you were discussing in another topic.

Alex,
The parts you have circled are called canoes. They contain the tracks the flaps move on.
This type of flaps are called Fowler flaps. A Google search should help you.
cheers,
Joe
Edited:
After reading a bit, and looking more closely at pictures, I believe I miss-spoke when I said the MD-80's have Fowler flaps. It looks like they have hinged flaps. This document might be interesting also,-

thank you Joe
Boy!! If I knew that if I ask In Real Aviation Forum I would get answers so explicits and fast my models would be more accurate ..Didn't bother anymore to ask several and several things I though this was exclusively for Aircraft & 3d Design area ,If you would see my First 727-200 release ,I Personally Invented a thrust reverse nonexistence mechanism
Iask and ask,no answer, not because they didn't want too ,I mean the people that visit this area of the forum ,They know more about 3d max gmax and FSDS procedures ,as so my other place which is FFDS which is Felix's site,
there are many funny things in some of my models ,The recent Citation x Twist too much its wings The wingflex animation, and many more funny stuff.
This happens to be because I have never seen an airplane Very close , and mostly are those who passes over my head at FL300
I bought this year the PMDG 747 and seen many procedures in youtube ,Now I have a closer idea what is a APU system among many other things ..
There was this Guy who I can't remember his name His from Sweden or Swedish
that actually help me a lot in the Citations ,Its been a while I haven't see him anymore..
I'm about to start its painting ,then there would be the most difficult part which I kept to say Its the VC ,gauges ,upper and down throttle console, its twice as hard than the exterior , and take me a lot of time
Thanks you gentlemen
