Hi All.  I've downloaded and installed these two planes and when I try to load the Alpha weapons I get an error message and no weapons.  Has anybody else had this problem?  Thanks.

Cheers! Huh

Confession time, Gentlemen.  Just read the 'readme' file included with the weapons.....DUH!!!!!  It seems that I must add the weapons I chose to the airplane's dp file.  No problem except I'm not familiar with modern weapons so don't know what needs a pod, a rail, or whatever.

Looks like I'll hafta leave this alone for a while.  Thanks for reading, though and happy flying!

Cheers!

Here's your fix!

Download my updated version of the Alpha A-4E on this page:

http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?type=item&ID=301&page=9

A complete set of the weapons you need are included and ready to go.  These weps will cover all your Alpha A-4s.  The DP from mine can be renamed and used with any Alpha A-4.  Wink

Don't know if this is how to show you the error message or not.  This is a screenshot of same.  TR I installed your airplane and the weapons and I get the same result, weapons are causing a problem.  If this image doesn't show, let me know and I'll try to send it another way.  Thanks

Just previewed this and don't see the image file.  Must be gettin' old....will somebody tell me how to attach it here please?

Alpha_1, I hate to hear that you're having this problem with the Alaphasim modern weps, because they are just the ticket for these two aircraft.   Hope Tango gets you back in business.

The A4E is my absolute favorite VN era attack plane....next to TR's A1Hs.  Grin

Going by the error message you haven't installed the Weapons pack correctly. It's a long time since I messed around with this stuff. I'm sure TR can help you.

PS. Just tried it & I'm getting the same error message.

Thanks for your interest in helping out guys.  I'll be skyping with TR next week and hopefully we can figure this out.  It's a pretty straight forward install I think, done it many times with other packs, so this has me scratchin'........

I can't figure it out either. There's definitely something wrong somewhere.

Now I hafta tell you guys, just downloaded and installed a couple of F4's and you guessed it (these are NOT Alpha models).....can't find weapons.  There must be something about these modern aircraft/weapons, dps, etc.  Any ideas?

Howdy,
After giving your dilema some thought, not easy these days, I realized you're having the same problem that I had a while back.  I don't remember where, but I downloaded the weapons package and after installion everything worked.  Send me a PM, at the other site, with an email address and I'll zip it up and get it to you.  At this point, its worth a shot.

Guys, I found the answer!  Everything works fine now.  Each of these aircraft, indeed most of the Alphasim aircraft have their own weapons, you don't need to download and install the 'weapons_free' from them.  If you do, and you've already installed the aircraft AND their associated weapons, you'll get the message that I did, indicating that there are two different bgl's fighting for the same thing.  I found out today that the weapons_free.bgl in the weapons/scenery folder must be deleted in order for each aircraft's weapons to work.  Sounds clear as mud, doesn't it!

I spent a lot of time on this before being given the answer, and I learned a heck of a lot in the process, so I'm thankful for the whole situation....and for everybody's input on this, thank you all so much!

Cheers!

Glad you found a solution.  Smiley

However, I have all of the Weps_Free and specific aircraft weps installed and have never seen a conflict.   So there has to be something else going on here as well.  But no matter... you've got weps.  Cool

Cheers!
