Which means this may not be a sound sound question. I had to say that.  Anyway,  A couple of months ago my fs9 crashed and I had to re-load.  Since, everything has worked fine except for one small thing.  I used to be able to use switches from a file called announcement.cab.  Since reloading I get a message that fs cannot load the switches, yet they are sitting there.  Don't  know what is wrong or what I need to do to fix.  Would appreciate some help.  Thanks.

I am replying to my own question.  It is hard to believe there is no one on this board who might have the knowledge to answer my question regarding sound.  That is too bad.  Cry

A search for announcement.cab turned up the Announcement Panel here. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004panels22.htm

It contains your missing gauge plus various other files. Perhaps you need to reinstall it. You also need FSSound.dll installed & enabled in FS9.cfg for it to work. The file is included. Please read the instructions carefully.

Thank you Hagar and others for responding to my question.  I will check these things out and see if I can get the sound to work.  There must be something amiss with the sound dll as when I taxi or am in the process of taking off, no matter which aircraft I am using, I get a loud sound like something dragging.  Again, thank you for the advice.
