If there is interest, this will happen!
Date: Sunday, August 15, 2010
Time: 2:30pm US Eastern
Route:Zurich, Switzerland
TO
Milan Malpensa Airport
OR (user choice)Milan Linate Airport
Weather: Real world
Sim Time: 8:00am Zurich local time.
The big difference:I will be providing ATC services on this flight using the chatbox, and for those brave few....SimV's Teamspeak 2 server. This means that I will not be flying a plane.
There are a few things to cover regarding this matter:1. If you want to join this flight, please post here if you
do or
do not want ATC services. You are of course free to fly the route without ATC. I'll work around you!
2. If you join this flight and want the ATC services, please plan on filing a brief flightplan in the chatbox using the "fp" codes. Type "?fp" if you need help when online. Basically, I need your plane type, cruising altitude, and route. If you want to post it here too, that's up to you.
3. If you want to join this flight and are using addon scenery for any of the fields that you will use, please post here with what addon scenery it is.
Note: There are nice freeware renditions for all of these airports available.
http://www.freewarescenery.com/fs2004.phpI really need to know this in case you want to use Linate airport. If you update the addon scenery past a certain point, it changes the airport layout slightly. (including runway numbers.)
Also note, the scenery recommendations are catered toward FS2004 users.
4. If you plan on using ATC services, let me know if you will be using the chatbox or teamspeak. By default, I will assume the chatbox.
5. Remember to get the SimV server password! The TS server however, is not protected, and in the event that someone hijacks it for noisy purposes, everything will go to the chatbox.
6. If you are using Teamspeak, use the push-to-talk feature, NOT voice activation. Also, make sure that your engine sounds don't drown out your voice, and that your microphone is close to you!
7. Runway assignments under ATC will be based on real world winds using MS/Jeppesen provided (default) real world weather.
Let me know here if anyone is interested!
Thanks,
-Sean
