Okay not many people on the forum are sports people but im pretty excited for my hockey team. I dont think anyone will remember but two years ago I posted a pic of my ice hockey team winning our league championships. Well I still play ice but I got into roller hockey and joined a travel team. Im not on the A team but im on the B team. At the end of each season they have a National roller hockey tournament. Correct, NATIONAL. Thankfully its held in the Bay Area  Cheesy. This tournament consists of over 400 roller hockey teams and 4 or 5 countries. The tournament is a total of 3 weeks long. As for my travel team and all other your usually there for 3-5 days. Games go from 6am to 12:30am Cheesy

Okay to cut to the chase, my team came into this tournament the underdog. We got seeded as a lower team and a lower division but a division we should be in. We went into the playoffs confident leading us to the semifinals where we would then play Arizona Elite, a team we previously played in the tournament and lost to. Our team was focused and determined to go the championship game that the first 9 seconds we scored. Then 2 minutes later we made it 2-0. We were very confident but as the second period went on later we started getting lazy leading them to take us to overtime. I got hit really hard, to a point where I couldnt breathe. I got help off the rink and a minute later we scored. Our team had a huge celebration as we were going to the championship game to maybe being National Champions!

As the game started we dominated this team the whole game. We took a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes of the game, where I came in and scored to make it 3-0 at the end of the first period. As the second period went on they scored late. We werent to worried as it was 3-1 score but needed to stay focused. Two of our players then took 2 stupid penaltys leading it to a 2-4 against us with 2 minutes left in the championship. They scored 5 seconds into the first penalty making it a 3-2 game. I became very very worried. As the clock was ticking the other team couldnt score which lead to a tripping penalty for them which gave us a break with 15 seconds as it was a 3-3. They pulled theyre goalie for an extra skater with 15 seconds and one of our forwards skated down to the net and scored making the final score 4-2. My goal ended up being the game winning goal! We were the champions as we celebrated. I have more pics on facebook just some to sum it all up.

Okay....well idk if any of you guys even read that but it was a pretty cool story. If you dont and just look at the pics to sum it up my roller hockey team are 16U Club National Champions! Cool
They have an article on us--first paragraph (it talks about me)  Smiley

Congrats Tyler.  Smiley That is just way cool. Love the medal. I'm not a hockey fan, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the hard work and talent involved. Heck, I even know who Bobby Orr is. Anyway, I think it's great, good job.  Smiley

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanks! Ive had it around my neck practically since ive gotten it this morning. I saw the medal about 2 days ago and the trophy and I was drooling wanting one so bad my dad had to get my head back into the game and hockey mind set before the game because all I was thinking about was the medal. All the hard work payed off and for as sore as I am, it was well worth it.

My coach told us before the game...not many people get to say they played for a national championship and not many people will be able to say they won, but you guys will. Such a great accomplishment for me. Something ill remember forever. Smiley
