I still want a Piaggio P-136 L1 (see my sig), but now I want it for FSX. And though Dino quality freeware with a VC would be nice, payware would be fine too. That's how bad I want one. I can't believe an aircraft this beautiful, with such graceful lines has never been built for FS. Wonder if I could talk Aerosoft into doing it?  Roll Eyes

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

If it hasn't been done already a hundred times over, by several dozen people, then most payware companies won't touch it.  Grin  Wink

I mean, why have cool obscure planes, when we can have another 737, Cessna Citation, or Piper Cub?   Roll Eyes

Originality of the addon plane choice died with FS9.
What we need are a new breed of Mike Stone's and Kazunori Ito's.  Smiley

If I see another Boeing tube get released and touted as the greatest thing since sliced bread, I'll puke.   Grin

But then again, FS is a very trendy hobby sometimes.  Wink

You could try seeing if Mario Noriega would do it. It may have to be for FS2004, but he's been responsible for almost every other Piaggio addon released so far.

Well said Shane. And you know how I feel about tubes. Sure I like to fly a F-14 or similar sometimes, but mainly, I just want to fly single and twin props, low and slow or slower. I did just buy a Kodiak, but it's still what I consider to be in the slow category. It's not a Super Otter, but it's as close as I can get in payware. And I have not found one that works properly in FSX, including the prop thingy. I do like the vc and panel though. It's just the exterior that is not as attractive as the Otter. I don't expect to even get an answer, let alone results, but I did send Aerosoft an email asking about the chances. Sometimes you just get lucky. Maybe Sean's suggestion might yield something.

Thanks Sean.  Smiley I'll see if I have his email in a readme somewhere.

Edited:
Found his address in a P-180 readme and sent him a 'request'. But I know how much work is involved, so I am not getting my hopes up. But it was worth a try.  Smiley

I do hope you you get results Larry. This is one of the few aircraft I would brush the dust off my credit card for.  Wink

Thanks Steve. I almost offered to pay him if he would build it. But I resisted the urge.  Roll Eyes
I still can't believe nobody every built one. I think it is the most beautiful amphibian I have ever seen. I've always liked gull wings, but this thing is just gorgeous. I would not change a single thing about it....
'cept the paint, of course.  Roll Eyes

Edited:
If I had the ability to build models, I could have built it, twice, in the time I spent looking for one.

Larry, you might be better off sending an email to Lionheart Creations rather than Aerosoft. Lionheart tend to do the more far out and unique aircraft designs whereas Aerosoft sticks to the more popular and well known aircraft. Just a thought. Wink

Thanks Mitch, I'll try that.  Smiley

I got a response from Mario. He has moved to the States to study (I'm guessing college) and does not presently have the time for designing. He did say it would be on his list if and when he gets the time. I thanked him for a quick response, welcomed him to American and said I understand. I also thanked him for all he has done for the community. He seems like a really nice guy.

Edited:
Got a quick response from Bill Ortis at Lionheart. He said he has about 10 aircraft in the que so he can't do it. He suggested posting a request at FS Developers. Aerosoft has not responded yet, and may not. Oh well.  Sad

It's getting very tempting to whip up a quick fuselage with wings and post the screenshot, and never finish it, just to tease you.  Grin

The project I will never finish. Do you think it would look better it I completely erased it off my hard drive?  Grin

...

Just kidding! I'm not deleting it. Maybe if Jakes says yes to making one, I'll send it to him if he wants it, although I'm sure he could do better. And he models for FS9. It wouldn't be a true FSX model if he did it.

As long as he uses the FSX part names, he could send you the raw file, and then you could export it in your copy.  Wink

I have both versions of Gmax, and had no problems exporting the same mdl files to either FS9 or FSX.

You can have  the FS9MakeMDL and FSXMakeMdl installed on the same pc, and export from Gmax. I try to do my models for both sims. The main reason I am doing FS9 is because I have FS9 on my notebook. Then just adapt the model for FSX (yeah i know about the Jbizz.... my FSX is not working...again..after installing a few addons and need to solve that)

As I said to Shane and Larry, My next project is the Rooivalk, but Only if I can get enough info. And if I can get enough info about the Piaggio P-136 L1 I will consider it. Maybe then try to get someone like Brett Henderson and Fr Bill to help with panel and aerodynamics.....

I bet Sean can help with the info on the Rooivalk. And maybe some of the ones that said they would like to have the Piaggio could help with the research for it. How about it guys?  Smiley

Bill Ortis and Lionheart Productions are fine people. I bought two of his aircraft (Epics) and could not load install them, mainly thru my own ignorance. He simply suggested I wipe the aircraft and gave me a refund. I have since solved my install problems (sometimes) and have recently purchased his epic victory and epic dynasty, both  great to fly and  both unusual airtcraft designs.  Smiley

I'll snoop around and see if I can find anything on it but I have a feeling the internet will be my main source.

Sifted through a little bit for Rooivalk info. I think Jakes is in the best position both geographically and resource-wise to get the good details.
It's not a very widely used helicopter.

I thought it looked a little high for that and could not see any lines below so I checked. You are entirely correct. Smiley
