I've seen many shots of it, and told myself, someday....

Today was that day.  Wink

That is some kind of nice scenery - especially for Spitfires and others from that era.  What are we looking at?

That is quite possibly the largest freeware download you may ever embark upon.  Grin  Wink

In these shots is NL2000 v3.0se for FS9
- a 23.7Gb download, and right around 30Gb when installed.  Shocked

My example shot for the monthly contest was also taken with this scenery.  Wink

This could almost have been its own sim,
and nearly covers the entire country of the Netherlands in photoreal scenery.

Just a sample of what's included:
Quote:
-full ground coverage of the Netherlands, including
all large and small airfields,
civil as well as military,
a lot of helipads,
some glider fields,
and important VFR elements like towers, buildings, bridges, windmills.
Apart from that, numerous generic objects.

Many general, helicopter and glider flights to choose from.

Complete (and I mean A LOT!) AI for all airfields & heliports, and water ways, and off shore oil rigs, etc...

Number of detailed landing spots like airfields, including helipads:35

Number of generic helipads:tens (see the feature panel for an overview)

Number of 3D objects: more than 240,000

Number of trees:203,019

Number of high voltage electricity pylons:10,709

Number of windmills: 875

Number of antenna's: 2,499

Number of wind turbines:more than 1,650

Number of oil tanks:more than 446

Number of high rise flat buildings:more than 2,400

Number of river boats:128

Number of bridges: more than 585

Number of cows:212 (especially in the vicinity of airfields and low flying zones)

There is now a version 4.0 for FSX -36Gb download, and you'll have to ask Bob70 how big it is after install.  Wink

Certainly has that pastoral look of southern England - maybe 'cause they were probably once all one great big continent?   Got the gigs and time so will give it a looksee  Smiley.

I really wanted that scenery, but I hate torrent. But I tried. After about 14 hours, the first file, 1.2gb was less than half way through. I stopped it and dumped everything. No more torrent downloads for me. If I can't get it another way, I just won't have it. My hat is off to anyone that has that much patience. It appears to be really nice scenery.  Sad
I remember something mentioned about Avsim and one more, but I'm not sure you can get the entire package that way. But worth checking into.

Edited:
Ok, I can get it at Avsim, but the NL page said not in photoreal. I'll try a couple to see how it looks. Here's hoping.  Smiley
