Greetings Gents!!  It's been a while since I've posted anything so this is a good way to get back to posting in SimV.  Here are some shots from a little flight I took that my wife gave me as a 50th Birthday present.  This past Tuesday I went up in a 1942 Stearman called The Cannibal Queen.  She was once owned by writer Stephen Coonts that wrote a book about his travels in her to all 48 lower states in the summer of 1991.  Jim Lonergan is now the owner and a pretty cool guy.  We did our flight around Philadelphia and then to Upper Bucks County Pennsylvania.  Jim gave me the stick after we left PHL air space and I flew her for a while.  Since then I've been walking around with what they call the Stearman Smile!!

Enjoy!!  Smiley  More to follow!!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.  My birthday was in February but this was the first time I was able to use my gift.  I am still smiling or as they say I have a "Stearman Smile"

I really have the bug now and need to go up again soon!!

James, when Steve Coonts had her she was nude up until he got remarried and his new wife had a young son so he painted a bikini on her!!  Smiley

Ken, We only did some tight turns and man they were tight!!

Cory

Aha, I forgot... but I'm sure it was a birthday-like day, anyway!

What you need is a glider ride! I still have to get checked out in the back seat, but then I will be taking on anyone who wants to fly (and weighs less than 220 lbs or so, LOL).

There's nothing quite like a Stearman...nimble but so solid. I'm overdue for another Stearman ride, myself... I'd love to fly one, for sure.

Nice pictures of a great plane and birthdaypresent. Although the painter put up the wrong picture above 'Cannibal Queen'. Because I am very certain that that woman is not my mother in law...

Carlo Wink (I love my mother in law. No really, I do. I'm also very happy that she lives an 8 hour flight from here)
