Was wondering if there were any of the other smart guys that can tell me how the way taxing instructions done, via the AI controller, and if they can be modified, or if that behavior is hard coded.

THe issue is this. The FAA has issued new rules for Taxing, effective the end of this month (June 2010). They basically require you stop until given explicit permission to cross every runway. This is being done to curtail runway incursions. They can only give you permission one runway at a time (unless the are less than 1000ft apart).

Just looking to see if that can be incorporated.

Within the native FS ATC - no.

Within add-ons like RC4 - it's up to the developer but there is NO easy solution.

I have moved to an add-on piece of software called Vox-ATC and it covers that new rule. I think because it was developed in the UK but I am unsure of that. I have to ask for permission to cross any runway and report that I have vacated ii when I have finished the cross. It took a while to convert to this software but I wouldn't go back to the prompt base ATC in FSX now.
