Doug, that bear at BC01 mauled a fellow pilot to the point he was unable to fly. I had to go in and get him.

You produce some fantastic clear shots, well composed and of interesting subjects.... but I have to ask ...... what is edited about them?

Lighting, contrast, sharpness, and getting rid of a few small jaggies. They are small adjustments, but according to forum rules, still classified as edits. Otherwise, I would post them in Payware.

I thought for sure you had added the fella in the last one.  Grin  Wink
Are you running REX, or is that HDE v2 ?  It's getting hard to tell them apart anymore.  Cool

Great set.  Smiley

REX and GEX. And I agree, the clouds in REX and HDE v2 look identical to me. Oh, and that fellow is animated. He stands there with his good arm down and then raises it and waves. And unlike many I've seen in FS9, he is not always looking at the camera. Very cool.

Yeah, those FS9 people do tend to be a little, 'flat' at times.  Grin Wink

Super set.  Your scenery looks great and I never saw a cub I didn't like.  This business of 'is it or isn't it', editing wise is an interesting question.  Three categories, one - word of honor, all I did was crop and/or resize - another, I took it apart and put it back together - and the third, I bought it so leave me alone.  My thinking is a 'word of honor' unedited screenshot is a waste because underneath the usual bland result you get from pushing 'V', lies a possibility of a real work of art.  Before I run out of beer, let me just say - allow editing in all categories and level the playing field by requiring freeware editing programs.  Let all our artists run free.

You have given me food for thought though. I never considered 'I bought it'.  Roll Eyes
It's not a problem though, and certainly not the first time I was asked what about it was edited. And I doubt it will be the last. I do admit to a certain amount of laziness though. Have not done a composite in quite a while. But in my defense, I'm still tweaking the new box and there are so many places yet to visit in FSX. I think I pretty much covered it in a recent response in another thread. It is an ongoing project.  Smiley
Having said all that, I must admit, I like eye candy. And even these few adjustments noticeably improve the shot.

I have to thank Doug (Flying Trucker) for making me aware of the scenery and leading me back to it with his posts in Freeware. So thanks Doug.  Smiley

Right.  What I'm saying is let everybody edit and find another way to level the playing field.  You have two copies so you can qualify in freeware - I haven't used freeware since FS9 so it becomes an impasse.  To enter, screw with your setup - Aerosoft doesn't have enough software to make me do that  Smiley.

Oh, ok. Now I see what you are saying. Sorry I did not follow you before.
I don't have a problem with it either. We all know that the base shot, without a lot of addons, tends to be bland at times and can be vastly improved by a little contrast, lighting, and sharpness adjustment. The end result, is more pleasing to the eye, which seems to me, should be the common goal. And there are plenty of freeware editing programs available and tutorials on how to use them. Granted there are different levels of editing, and some of our members are extremely talented in the advanced levels. They, are the true artists. But regardless of edited or not, it's all about enjoying a common hobby. At least for me.  Smiley
