After a few fine test flights on my stock GPU, I think I might be able to attend this.  Smiley

I'm so done with not being able to fly whenever I want.  Grin  Wink

I know its a bit of a cheat, Brando, but if you fancy flying your DC3 using more manageable Radios that you are familiar with, replace the existing Radio Stack with this one...>>>

Full Bendix-King radio Stack

[Windowxx]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,308
position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Audio, 0, 0
gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0, 29
gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 2, 0, 86
gauge03=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio ADF, 0, 142
gauge04=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 0, 180
gauge05=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 0, 217
gauge06=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0, 262

..re-arrange the gauge numbers, etc, to suit..

I fit them to all my Aircraft which are not fitted with them as standard.... Kiss...!

Don't forget to make a back-up copy of the Default aircraft.cfg file!

....LOL...!

I know the feeling..... Grin...!

I find large, piston prop, Tail Draggers a bit of a handful, especially on the ground.
Once up in the air, they are fine, its just manoeuvring around on the ground that gives me a headache!... Cry....!

I find my Douglas DC4, "Tricycle", (With its Bendix-King Radio Stack), a much better bet than the default DC3!.... Kiss...!

Did several online test flights today, and it appears as though my on board graphics chip is up to the task, so I am a confirmed go for this flight.  Smiley

Looking forward to it too.  Wink

I remember when I first got flight simulator X and was not able to fly it very often because most of the time, it would just become a slideshow on the horrible computer I used to have. (With Windows Vista  Angry) I installed it on my dad's laptop and was not able to fly it very often. I was so happy when I got this current computer. I can fly whenever I want with a reasonable framerate average.

I had an OK graphics card, but for 2 years,
I ran it like it was a great graphics card,
and then one day,
it went pop,
the fan locked up,
and then flew off inside the computer,
and I've been on the motherboards graphics chip ever since.  Cry

Good thing I didn't skimp on the motherboard.  Cheesy Wink

The funny thing is...

I've still got my trusty old Gigabyte AGP Motherboard with its ancient AMD Socket 7, 2600XP+ (2.1 GHZ)  Processor, and my Leadtek Winfast 7800GS 256MB Card plugged into the AGP slot... Kiss.....

...from about 6 years ago...at least... Shocked....

And it runs my FS 2004 fantastically smoothly...most of the time...(even my FSX!)...

So...being the tight-arse that I am   Tongue  , I am reluctant to throw any more expensive hardware at the Sim for the sake of a few more FPS......far too many"other interests"!... Wink...

...which leaves me with lotsa-money to spend on all sorts of other exciting toys!... Smiley...!

Paul...Its Play Time!... Smiley...!

Next card I get, I plan on using it with some earned common sense.  Wink

My thinking was, push every setting on the card to it's max, and that would get me great graphics.  Roll Eyes

For two years I pushed it like that, and then  it started acting weird, and giving me artifacts on the screen.

When I decided to turn the settings down to see if that would fix it, my sim looked better than it ever had before.
Two weeks later, pop goes the weasel.  Cry

I deserved to have it blow up for treating it like that.  Embarrassed

Next time, install the card, and leave it on the default settings, and let FS9 do the work like it was meant to.  Smiley

Silly old me works on the assumption that if the Processor/Card manufacturers thought it was a good idea to increase the processing power/speed of their products, and still maintain reliability, they would already have done it, straight out of the box!

Me.... Roll Eyes...?

I leave things well alone!... Kiss...!

You've taught me some very important lessons during my time here Paul...

Learn to use the Bendix, and trust in it,

and....

Leave well enough alone.

Grin

Words of wisdom that everyone should follow.  Smiley

My advice is; never fiddle with things!.... Angry....!

When you are very young, you cant resist fiddling with "things"...

..and before you know where you are ...

...you are suddenly;..."Married"!.... Shocked...!

Let that be a warning!... Cry...!
