I have recently developed a bug.  In the VC I am no long able to pan around to see what is going on.  If I try to pan, it is EXTREMELY choppy and goes immediately back to dead center.

[CONTROLS]
KBDAIL=64
KBDELEV=64
KBDRUD=64
PAN_RATE=700

is what the FS9.CFG is currently set as.

i have tried PAN_RATE=400  (actually everthing between 200 and 800 and nothing matters)

anyone have any ideas what is going on???? This happens with EVERY aircraft, Addon and Default, every airport.

Are you able to pan (using the hat switch) when not in VC mode?  i.e. in Spot View.

If not, that suggests a hardware issue (the hat switch itself) to me.

BTW - my settings are the same as yours except I have added
pan_in_cockpit_mode=1
  so I can pan when in the 2d cockpit view.

That is not the same as panning in VC but I find it very useful when the cockpit panel has been removed (W twice) to view scenery etc. while flying low and slow.

assignments: View (pan) :: Hatswitch [full repeat]

yes i can pan around outside with no problem.  2d, will 'snap to' the left, right, ceiling, headrest, and all others with no problem.   VC=if i am sitting still, not moving, i can look around.  The second that I apply power.. I can NOT look around anymore.

as for your line..
pan_in_cockpit_mode=1
  Where would i put this in the .cfg? under controls????

Yes under the Controls label -

[CONTROLS]
KBDAIL=64
KBDELEV=64
KBDRUD=64
PAN_RATE=400
pan_in_cockpit_mode=1

No clue regarding your other issue but you can always try renaming your FS9.cfg file (to disable it) so FS will create a fresh new one with all of the default settings.  Sometimes that will "fix" strange behaviors that defy explanation.  You would need to copy/paste back any specific tweaks to it of course.

Also, if your Joystick is a USB connection, experiment with plugging it into a different USB port.  Never hurts to try.

Keep us posted.

Silly as it sounds, there is also a key stroke that centers your view. Make sure you don't have any stuck keys.

i just did the RENAME / REBUILD.... still have problems

the last install to FS9 that I made BEFORE all of this started, was the Alcatraz Island (look in freeware screenshots for the link).   I have deleted that scenery, gone into the FS9/SCENERY.CFG and deleted the entry to it there as well just so that I wont get the stupid "I CANT FIND THIS SCENERY!" Error.  Roll Eyes Angry

Nothing will help.  I just hope that I do not have to reinstall as I have

...

running across the top of my screen and i REALLY do NOT want to have to reinstall all of that as well.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Angry

just noticed something.... when in the VC, not only can I NOT pan around, but if i take a hard bank turn, the view slides to the direction that I would be facing.... Almost like I would have TRACKIR and you turn your head to see where you are going... its trying to turn my view to show me but its not quite doing it completely.

UGH this is annoying as hell!!!!! Did I install something that messes with views??? Are there programs out there that would do these things that I am describing???  I dont care what the program is, just someone please help me figure this out!
