I haven't had a random fatal error in a while. But during almost every time if I right click and the menu comes up and I speed down the menu it'll freeze and fatal errorafy. Same with pressing ALT and messing around with the menus. Mainly the View menu.
If I don't go really fast around the menus I don't seem to have that problem.
Anybody else have this?  Huh

I do not have a link handy, but do a search through the postings, using the search tool. Or search Google out in the Net.

A fix is out there. It involves one file, I beleive the UIAutomationcore.dll.

If i recall, putting an older version of the file in your FSX folder where it will find it first, rather than the newer one in the Windows folder, fixes it.

There is a little more to it than that.
Search, the ansewr is out there.

If one of the mods are watching, if they know where the post is with the fix, can it be added to the FAQ sticky at the top of the FSX Forum?

I had the issue in Vista.
I run Vista 64 bit, and have run into few problems except this one.
Was most pleased when I found the solution.

what was the solution?  maybe if you tell the rest of us, if anyone else has the problem then they can know how to fix it.

I posted this on a similar post a while back  Smiley

The problem you mentioned seems to be a common FSX & Win 7 problem. I assume you run Win 7.

The actual crash results from left clicking alot & opening up items within the menu bar.

This error is due to a negative result coming from the uiautomationcore.dll library in Windows 7.

I managed to resolve the issue (thanx to advice I got from browsing & not by my own invention) by placing the uiautomationcore.dll from Vista into my root FSX folder.

Here is some serious reading material about the problem.

You will also find the download links for the uiautomationcore.dll that you need to place into your FSX root folder to avoid this problem.

Is it as simple as placing UIAutomationcore.dll from Vista into the FSX root directory?  I followed the series of links to the problem and they were beyond my minimal computer understanding.

I have been experiencing a very similar problem with Vista since some updates to Vista were installed recently. Could these problems be related?

Cool
