This ump calls the batter safe. Why is it the worst call ever? 9th inning 2 outs and the pitcher has a PERFECT GAME....1 more out....hits it to the first baseman, the pitcher goes to first, catches it, with foot on bag, clearly an out and the ump calls it safe. Next play he gets the batter out. After the game the pitcher saw that he was out and not safe and then knew he got robbed. THEN the ump says sorry to the pitcher realizing he just screwed him over of a perfect game. God im mad just hearing that he got robbed like that.
Sincerely, Tyler

While it is bad the ump missed the call.
Thumbs up to the comish for deciding NOT to over turn the call and not * that game. He said something like "we need to keep that human element in the game."
Plus if he did this, he would have to over turn every single bad call like:
the Braves games with Bill Hohn, because he screwed us out of playoffs with ejecting our players/manager for no reason, and made many, upon many bad calls on just us the 6 games he umpired us as the crew chief.

I think MLB should wake up and start using instant replay like football and hockey does. Forget keeping the human element in the game... i think it's more important to get the correct call.
Just my opinion...

Yeah I agree, it keeps the game more fair. I mean what if another person hit the ball then another then a grand slam and they won just because of that bad call. For hockey and football, if there is a bad touchdown that shouldnt be a touchdown or a goal that shouldnt be a goal then it will get overturned and the game will be more fair. And even with instant replay they STILL make mistakes every now and then so I think there is still some "human element" in the game even with instant replay...I mean its not like they get it right every single time just because they have a replay.
Sincerely, Tyler

Well they are making progress, they do allow replays for "close" home runs" now. But even with replays, you will have umpires who will overturn the call in the favor of their choice, regardless what the replay says.
Because in the league I umpire, if we had a "bad" call, the coach may argue the call, and ask the two of us to talk it out(which we normally do) but the call goes to the umpire who called it first, or which umpire is closer to the call if we both call it.
