THE  JUNE  SCREENSHOT  CONTEST

This Month's Theme Is Titled...

"Special to Me..."

This month's contest all about
What is most special to you!

We all have joined this wonderful Flight Simming community for different reasons,
and this is your chance to share a special experience,
or that extra special freeware addon you've found, with your fellow simmers!
This contest will require you to take a shot using Freeware addons, that are either special to you in some way, or help to tell the story of a special moment in aviation that you have had.

Whether it was your first ride on a jumbo, or maybe a great visit to your local grass field,
tell us about it with your shot, and a short paragraph describing what's going on.

With all of the great freeware addons available,
any special moment can be captured.

* We would also ask if you could post a link or mention where you got the aircraft-scenery from.
* Remember to support SimV when you can!

* Please see Screenshot Example below...

* RULES *

THE RULES

Contest Starts June 10, 2010
and Ends June 30, 2010.

Below are the rules...
Any questions or comments should be directed to a judge and will be answered at the earliest available opportunity.
Any contestant judged to have violated these rules will have his entry removed and be disqualified.

1. This contest will run from June 10, 2010 until June 30, 2010. Entries submitted after Midnight on June 30, 2010 EST will not be accepted.  Judging will occur after June 30, 2010 EST and the 10 Finalists will be entered into the POLL that will be posted soon after! Now the Members will cast their vote in the Poll to determine this month's winner!

2. The Simviation Monthly Screen Shot Contest is OPEN TO ANYBODY who wants to test their skills! Whether you are a newbie or an avid Simviation poster, we want to see what you got! Please be honest and do not start creating new accounts that result in duplicate or multiple screenshot entries under different usernames. IP addresses will be tracked!  Wink

3. All images Must BE NO WIDER THAN 1024 AND NOT MORE THAN 150KB IN WEIGHT! No cropping, editing or adjusting your shot!! Any images over 150 kb in weight, and wider than 1024 will not be VALID!  This rule is now being enforced since This is a Screenshot Contest and we "want to see the RAW shot!" All entries must be uploaded to SimV.

4.
ONLY ONE ENTRY PER MEMBER!
Each contestant must start their own thread in the Screenshot Contest forum with their shot! Your entry must be included in this thread.

5. Screenshots from Flight Gear, FS98, FS2000, FS2002, FS2004, FSX & CFS series only please!!

6. Once an entry is submitted, it may not be changed or replaced.  This is to keep the confusion to a minimum, and to maintain forum integrity.  Entries may be withdrawn from the contest, but no additional entries from that member will be accepted.

7. Entries may be of freeware aircraft and scenery only! This keeps the playing field even!  Wink

8. Entries may not be edited in any way.  Any entry discovered to have been edited will be disqualified and the image removed from the contest.

9. All images must be produced specifically with the intent of entering them in this contest.  No screenshots previously posted images or pre-contest images will be accepted.

10. After the contest has ended and the judges have decided on the "Finalists", a "POLL" type thread will be started entitled, "Screenshot Finalists, Vote Now!" It will explain that the Poll will be closed within 48 hours. You must note the Post Time of this thread to know when it will close! This will allow the members to now vote for their favorite shot from the ones the judges have picked!

11. After 48 hours from the time the Finalist Announcement is made, the POLL will be closed and the Winner announced!

**
Linking images to other sites is NOT allowed and STRICTLY ENFORCED**
YOU CAN ONLY USE A FREEWARE SCREENSHOT CAPTURE PROGRAM!

Active Camera, Walk & Follow are NOT allowed!!

Good Luck to All and Thanks for playing!

I think that's a hard theme, but it will definately produce some fantastic shots.

I'm trying to think of how to put 'I did well in primary school so I was allowed to get a game from Toys 'R Us' into an image. I'll get it eventually  Grin

This contest will require you to take a shot of your favorite Freeware addon,
and then tell us a little bit about why it is special for you.

The more I read this, the more confused I am.

Two words stand out: "or" and "favorite".

I read it as follows: share a special experience or that extra special freeware addon you've found.
Second, this contest will require you to take a shot of your favorite freeware addon.

Anything I have as it pertains to FS is my "favorite" based on the "quality" of it. As far as special experiences goes, I've had many as it relates to aviation, but that addon doesn't necessarily make it my favorite.

Some examples: Elmendorf AFB by MAIW - Was stationed there and it brings back memories. Excellent graphics and I've tinkered with the afcad and added the AC that were there at the time. However, not my "favorite" addon. VOZ  scenery - briefly lived in Adelaide, South Australia. Flew from Melbourne to Adelaide on an Ansett Airlines 737. Again, great memories, but not necessarily my favorite addon. Anchorage International Airport, PANC version 5 - flew from Seattle, WA to Anchorage, AK on a Wein Air Alaska 727, but again, not my favorite addons.

I think this is a great theme, but some clarification would be very helpful.

Sorry Chris, is the revised text more clear as to what we want?  Smiley

All of the entries so far, are spot on for what we had in mind.  Smiley

I'm guessing a freeware scenery like 'Vashon' would be ineligible because it requires payware FTXPNW?

Vashon freeware does not require FSX PNW. It is a stand-alone scenery. I don't have PNW and it works just fine.

To me, that makes those who put in the effort stand out that much more.  Wink

It's not always easy getting a hold of these great prizes,

less so now in these hard times,

so we appreciate those who go the extra mile,

to try and win them.   Cool

Good luck to every one that entered!  Smiley
