A short and simple question......
Why is the foot brake pedal on an automatic car twice (on average) the size of the foot brake on a manual car?

Because the clutch pedal isn't there. There's more room?
And also so old dears who drive automatics can rest their foot on it giving the impression that they're constantly braking....

Well, most ladies will choose automatic, thus the large brake pedal. Simply put.

It feels like you're accomplishing more when you put two feet to the floor when doing an emergency brake perhaps?

A slight digress, but last night my wife and I went out to dinner. Now as she would be driving home, I parked in the women only area of the park house. I reversed in so she could drive out with ease. As we walked out, we both noted that not a single car in the women only area was parked straight, within the lines. Some where parked so close that a returning driver-ess would need a can opener to gain access through the roof. In general it looked like the cars had been sprinkled randomly and left. My wife who is a very conscientious parker (so much so I sometimes park badly just to annoy her) got quiet pissed at the name these other lady driver were giving her species

In automatic car, there is no difference between clutch and foot brake. Foot brake are on the right side in automatic cars and can be pushed with right feet for emergency brakes.

Well this thread is a blast from the past...............
Anyway, not quite sure what you are saying here. The foot brake is on the right side of what?, the clutch pedal that is not there
As for no difference between the brake and clutch pedal, the thread was about automatic cars..........
