Or in particular values.  I've done a lot of searching but its leading nowhere fast.

My grandmother has this old Gibson that is in mint condition, not one scratch on it, all original  Shes thinking of selling it but finding values has been a mess of prices, so far its been a range of $200->$2500+.  But no one seems to know.  Tried to look up serial numbers but haven't found anything there either.

Information I have on it, Gibson LGO model, roughly 47-50 years old, she bought it brand new back in the early 60's.  Only thing I could find even close to a serial number was on the back of the headstock at the top...95294.  She still has the original sale ticket but I forgot the date of sale...paid like $85 back then Shocked  Beautiful guitar...wish I could afford to buy it from her myself Cry   Any information would be helpful, heading down there for a visit tomorrow evening and could get more particular information if I know what I'm after, or pictures if they would help.

...

...
What I'm guessing is the serial number at the top Undecided

Since you say it is mint and if I read your post correctly, one owner, I would say a minimum of $500 USD, possibly a good bit more to a collector.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Guitar Info ( http://www.guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx )
Your guitar was made at the
Kalamazoo Plant, USA
approximately in: 1962, 1963 or 1964

Gibson Serial Numbers, Feb 1961 to 1970.

All models, stamped in back top of peghead. No "MADE IN USA" stamp below serial number! Note many serial numbers are duplicated from 1963-1969. In these cases, to figure out which is the exact year for a guitar, see the General Specs section for more details. ALSO note: It is easy to confuse 5 digit and 6 digit serial numbers from this era, and hence get the wrong year for a guitar. That is, 55555 is not the same number as 555555 (but when reading the number off the back of a Gibson peghead, these two numbers do look very similar!)

      Range              Year
      -----              ----
      0100   to 42440    1961
      42441  to 61180    1962
      61450  to 64222    1963
      64240  to 71040    1964
      71041  to 96600    1962, a few from 1963/1964
      96601  to 99999    1963
      000001 to 099999   1967  (all 6 digit numbers
                                starting with "0" are 1967)

Based on comparable models, I'm going to say -$200-$500.
Perhaps more to the right buyer.  Wink

Thanks for the info Wink...might try advertising it and see what happens.  Don't think she will part with it for any less then $500 though.

If a couple of things go right for me in the next couple of weeks, and if she still has it, I'd be very interested in purchasing it.  Smiley

I wouldn't have to drive too far to get it either.  Grin  Cool

I have a lovely old, nylon string, Italian, Acoustic Guitar which my Ex-Missus bought for me in 1960, (to keep me happy while she was entertaining the Troops, etc!), and over the years as it slowly aged, (the Guitar and me), it has sounded better and better, like an old Stradivarius Violin....

...wonderful instruments... (Me and my Guitar!).... Wink...!

Paul... Grin....!

The Missus has long since disappeared from the scene...but I've still got my trusty Guitar!... Smiley...!

It's obviously not rare or highly coveted, but the mint/original condition would make it most valuable in its field.
Keep it in a good case, tune and play it regularly, and do not clean, polish, or refinish it!!! Just dust it once in a while and make sure your hands are clean before you play it.
