I have a chance to pick up a used eVGA 8800 GTX for $60.

A) Is it worth that? (provided all works as it should)

And

B) Would it provide a marked improvement over the HD 3870 I'm using now?

I mainly use my rig for FS9, FSX, Crysis, and COD4 all at 1856  X 1396 @ 75hz.

Specs: Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI,
AMD Athlon X2 6400+ w/ZeroTherm BTF90,
4GB G.Skill PI Series DDR2-800,
Sapphire HD4870 512MB,
PC P&C 750 Quad, in a CoolerMaster HAF932

Doubt it would be a massive improvement.

I can't say anything regarding improvement because I have used no other card. I bet the newer Nvidia Geforce 9800 series (or whatever they are named) are cheap and powerful.
