I don't know if you ever figured out in detail what it is patchs, but I'll explain anyway!  As olderndirt said, it is similar to Trackir, the difference is, It is not moved by your head, it is moved by buttons, You can save views and make short-cuts to them (1 goes to radio stack, 2 goes to dash, 3 goes to instrument panel), also, you can use the mouse to move around, use the arrow keys to walk (kind of), and lots of other stuff.
