Two Alaskans - one eaking out the last of ski season and the other, able to operate only off Anchorage's Lake Hood with outlying lakes still iced over.  Their rendezvous is one of the 'amphitheaters' on
Denali.                                        ...

Looks like a great day for flying! And a great place to do it.
Smiley Which settup weighs more, wheel skis or floats? ( assuming the floats are pumped dry)

Ask an expert, like Flying Trucker.  Never had the pleasure of owning either.

I would assume the floats still weigh more.

Great shot.  Smiley
I always wondered, but never knew for sure, if floats could be used as skis. I'm assuming that it would have to be fairly fresh snow and not ice.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Good morning all... Smiley

Great shot Dave...I feel the urge again... Grin

For interest take a look at this site:

http://www.wipaire.com/index.php

and they will be pleased to answer any questions they can and if they can't answer your question they will direct you in the right direction.

The weight of skis and floats are shown along with price of the unit and installation price.

I think many of you will get an eye opener when you check out the price of some amphibious floats here, they cost more than many light aircraft, cars, boats and homes... Grin

It is a wonderful site full of useful information if you take the time to read it and again these are very helpful professional folks who do not mind anwering questions.

Hope this helps Steve... Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
