I just upgraded my existing Phenom II X4 955 to a Phenom II X6 1090T. Now FSX and 3D Studio Max start but then dump out after a few seconds I tried letting FSX rebuild the config file but no joy. Did a repair install of FSX but...nope.

My semi educated guess is that it somehow borked up the Hardware Abstration Layer and that I'm probably in for one of those ever popular complete system reloads. (which is far more fun than I deserve)

Any input would be welcome.

Just a thought, but did you reinstall Windows after the upgrade? I don't know if it's necessary, but it would be a good idea.

Yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion I've come too also. Oh well. Undecided
