Morning all.

With the iFly 737NG imminent (http://www.ai-china.net/showtopic-3428.aspx), I thought I'd re-acquaint myself with the 747 - and found that I can't load it in W7. The readme indicates that for non-XP systems, Microsoft's GDI+ DLL has to be installed, and includes a link. I did this, but the bird still won't load - anybody else out there come across this?

I am curious -- what is the exact filename (a link would be good) of the aircraft in question?

I have an ifly 747-400 which is for FSX only and see no mention of the non-XP system requirement.

Is yours a version for FS2004 perhaps?

Hi David.

Yes, it's v1 for FS9, 'iFly 747-400 V1.0.0.0 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004'. I re-installed Service Pack 3 and it all seems to be OK now - I'll report back later.

David,

It's the version 1 for FS9 on Avsim.

Ok, found out what the issue was. In my previous XP setup, I'd installed the add-on that puts a centre post in the 2D cockpit view incorporating a non-iFly compass gauge, since the original iFly file didn't include one. Installing the iFly SP3 over-wrote the panel.cfg file which removed the reference to the third party compass file - et voila.

So it was that third party compass gauge that W7 didn't like - nothing to do with that GDI+ installation which I removed, since the 744 loads fine now. I manually put the centre post back in and simply replaced the third party compass gauge with the iFly version that is installed by SP3.

A freeware 737NG with all the bells and whistles!?!  Shocked

That thing looks like it might replace my PMDG in my hanger if it flies anywhere as good as it looks...!  From what I read, looks like it is FS9 compatible too!

Cheers,
RB

No indication (as far as I know) about whether it'll be freeware or not, but it certainly looks tasty.
