I had looked around Edwards a little earlier and remembered seeing some tumbleweeds. So when Chuck asked if anybody knew where to get AI tumbleweeds I went back and did a little tour. Considering the variety of building types and other scenery objects I observed, I think ACES went to school on FS9 freeware scenery designers when they were making FSX. I also think they did a pretty good job with Edwards.
Here are your tumbleweeds Chuck.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I really didn't expect a reply!And I agree,they did do a great job
Great shots by the way
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Still can believe that's default scenery. Wonderful shots btw.
Also, wonder why ACES decided to do such as great job on Edwards?

I busted out laughing as soon as I saw you had replied to this thread. But you have to admit, the tumble weeds are a nice touch. I know absolutely nothing about scenery design, but I 'think' if they are resident in FSX, they are probably available for designers to use. But animated would really be cool, especially somewhere like Edwards if you were just sitting there spotting.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanks.
I don't know, but there may be other places just as nice. The more I explore FSX the better I like it. I can still remember how it blew my mind when I first found out you could add aircraft to FS9 and there were lots of freeware around. And the way I found out was I got to wishing it were possible and one day I did a search. Guess whay I found. Simviation. I've been hooked ever since.
What I regret, is that I took so long to come to the forums. I had been downloading aircraft for almost a year before I started lurking here. Too much time wasted that I could have spent here.
