It has been awhile since people posted some good free anti-virus software.

AVG does not seem to offer free anti-virus anymore.

I need something for Vista that does not hog system resources and does the job right. Any suggestions?

Thanks

AVG is still free, you just have to look for a while to find the download link.  Wink I just downloaded it again yesterday.

Try using the Australia AVG website. They definitely still offer AVG for free as it was on the front page. The US site didn't have the free version on the front page for some reason...?

MalwareBytes.

Works good as a cleaner, but does not provide realtime protection.  Although lately with these fake antivirus bugs, not much does.  I've had three in the last six months.
