Following numerous requests we have decided to continue development of the B-52 project. In addition to the released B-52 BUFF Exterior model the upcoming B-52 Driver will include highly detailed interior, custom sounds and more.

Systemwise it's going to be Express Line product. So it will feature essential aircraft systems, flight instruments and controls, functional radar. Secondary systems (special ops, EW, weapon etc) will be inop, but provide the look and feel of the legendary BUFF. For obvious reasons it's going to be the B-52G (not H) cockpit.

All users of the B-52 BUFF Exterior model will get 10EUR discount on the B-52 Driver.

I wonder how much they are going to charge for a VC and soundset? Roll Eyes

Actually I don't care how much they will charge - the latest VC preview released yesterday looks simply stunning. Will get it for sure.

I always do!  Smiley

I've gotten quite a large amount of formerly expensive payware for next to nothing that way.
There's plenty of freeware versions to tide me over until the payware version goes on discount, or even better, when they do like Iris  & Alphasim, and  just release them as freeware.  Cool

It's hard to believe that any payware company would release an FSX model today, without a VC or soundset.  Huh

It's a supply and demand thing, as a customer you see screenshots whilst the product is still work in progress and you want that product now, This is Alphasims downfall (Phil Perrots own words "finacial troubles") with the C-17 which has ben in production now for nearly 3 years and still not finished, the BN Islander was finished nearly 2 years ago and in the meantime their main and only fulltime modeller has left. CS with their B-52 saw the light very quickly and sold the bare bones cheaply with the vc to follow but only after people complaining that there wasn't a vc to follow!!!

From the people I talk to they are very sceptical to show their work in progress stuff purely on the fact they get hounded by emails and messages with the likes of " is it ready yet?" and "when will it get released" some resort to peer pressure and release their products and then get slated for releasing half measure items the you as the customer aren't happy with, then refuse to buy any other products from them. Especially in this time of economic hardships everyone gets hit from the ground up.

The only CS product I ever had was the 727X, so I don't know if that product is representative of all the CS planes....but the thing I don't understand about CS is their STAUNCH refusal to make their product fly like the real thing.  Users have pointed out flaws in the flight model, and some users have even made and distributed modifications.  But CS apparently will not incorporate these or go the distance to make sure the plane flies right.  I can't imagine this to be true, but it is almost appears as if they have made a design decision that it shall NOT fly like the real thing or match the numbers.

I'm not a designer, but if I were, I would want to make a product that was as real as it gets.  If you are going to do 95% of the work, why not finish the product, and put it to bed?

When one looks at the amount of pride that some developers take in their work (PMDG, FSlabs, A2A etc), and the lengths they go to to get things working like the real thing, I'm somewhat befuddled by CaptSim.

As pretty as it is, and as much as I've been wanting for a 707, because of my evaluation of their 727X product, I won't be purchasing their 707.  I have almost a dozen payware planes now, and the CS727 was the only one that dissapointed me so much that I uninstalled it for being too low-fidelity to stand alongside the rest.

And if Paul Golding ever reads this site, where in the heck is that update to the Greatest Airliners 727 for FSX that I've been hearing about for years now? Smiley

I am absolutely satisfied with CS 727 and find it to be one of the greatest CS products. They keep improving it with every SP and have not dropped the development. I'm rather sceptical about those things people say and mods people do because 99% of them are not pilots and just DO NOT know how real thing should fly. And I'll buy their 707 just after release because I trust them.
