Wife and I decided to turn the weekend into a road trip and decided to see what Yosemite looked like in the spring.  We were not disappointed.  The waterfalls are in full blast right now with the snow melt.  We also decided that we would check out the Sequoia's for once, even though it was a 2 mile hike uphill to get there, she did good for being 3 months preggo  Wink

One note.  The pics do not serve these behemoths justice.  My jaw hit the ground when I walked up on the first one.  They are huge!!!  And we couldn't even get to the really big ones yet, those ones were still snowed in.

Unless you have stood next to one or even in one, you can never really get an understanding of how big they are. Have you visited the Petrified Forest. It is about half an hour from Santa Rosa. When you have seen a few of them in stone Shocked

Thanks goodness. I was afraid I was going to see pictures of your vehicle smashed up against a big tree. Now I don't have to be concerned for your injuries. Great shots.  Smiley

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I doubt a Marine would let the tree win like that. Grin

Cool shots, a friend of mine said they were some of the tallest things he's ever seen.

These were taken in Mariposa Grove, about two miles from the Hwy 41 entrance to Yosemite.   Kings Canyon is further south near Fresno, and I do hope to make it there one of these weekends

Patchz...I didn't even think of that when I put the thread title in  Grin

Rich H...No, I wouldn't let a tree win  Grin  Although these monsters would be a tough battle, I just couldn't believe how tall and how big around they are.  Some of them you can drive a car through, but we couldn't get to those ones.

Just cram the thing with napalm and stand hell of a way back and watch the fireworks. Or something along those lines, right Truck? Smiley
