Cheer up old chap. It's not summer yet.
Mind you, I suppose you realise this could affect our weather for several years to come.

Typical, I am on my shift off days and at work they are sat about drinking coffee and using the hanger as a sports hall
Nothing flying in Germany today.
Curiously, I have just looked on Google Earth and can see no sign at all of the supposed "volcanic ash cloud". It is making me think, collective European Government action, but for what I have not yet worked out. Probably a huge conspiracy to ground the airlines so they can refill all the chemical tanks with a new substance and then continue chemtrailing us. Will let you know if I hear anything

Ash at 20,000-30.000 Feet...
Probably affecting lots of General Aviation Aircraft now?
Apart from clogging up the Air Filters, I wonder how much Piston Props are affected by the ash?

Is the problem most severe on Ash Wednesdays?....

RAF SAR and HM Coastguard helos have supposedly been unaffected by these restrictions. I wonder if that holds true for Bristow helicopters flying to rigs off the coast of Aberdeen.
These things have been known to erupt for time periods up to two years. Hopefully it won't cancel my flight to the UK in 2012. Perhaps it's time to start thinking about making a sacrifice to appease the volcano gods.

They all remember the KLM 747 having to 'dead-stick' into Anchorage from about seventy miles out - a quiet ride for the passengers.

Likwise the British Airways 747 that lost all engines enroute to New Zealand ..... they managed to restart them after descending out of the ash cloud.... only to fly back up into it and loose them again. They descended out of the cloud and restarted them, then rerouted to made an emergency auto landing in Jakarta as the cockpit window frosting made a CATIII approach look like 20 mile visibility. The aircraft looked like it had been put though rollers made of sand paper ...... all leading edges were glass smooth and shiny.
