I've been looking forward to this. The Jodel fly-in at Popham last Sunday was the first one of the season. It was much cooler than Saturday with a strong breeze & hazy cloud for most of the day. The event was well supported with over 80 examples of the Jodel/Robin family. I took so many photos it's difficult to know what to post.* Plenty of other types turned up including some vintage classics.  Here's a few to give a flavour of a brilliant day out.

Pretty little Champion 7ECA Citabria. First time I've seen this one.
...

Stinson HW-75 Voyager. Built 1939.
...

Luscombe 8A Silvaire. Built 1946.
...

Foster Wikner Wicko. Built 1938. Beautifully restored by Ron Souch at Southampton. Only example in the world.
...

Melvyn Hiscock's immaculate Rearwin Cloudster. Built 1939. The only example of this type in Europe.
...

Piper Vagabond. Built 1948. These are very popular now.
...

Typically the last two were taken at the end of the afternoon when the sun finally broke through. That's the way it goes in this game. Wink

*PS. More of my Popham photos HERE

Beautiful shots Doug. I looked at the album and my favorites were Mistress and Van's RV7.  Smiley

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Wonderful shots Doug and the Album was fabulous...good idea... Wink

Seems we have three days of rain ahead of us right now so most of the local bugsmasher fields with grass runways will be a tad soft... Smiley

  Cool

They are all terrific, but I really like that Wicko- very 30s, and very British.

Looks like the resto team had their work cut out for them with that one...
