Recently I have just done a complete reinstall as I have bought myself a new motherboard, Ram and CPU. I did A few flights and was ok but I noticed that maybe once or twice a day... after more than 2 mins since spawning, I could suddenly only see the insides of the aircraft from Spot View. Like the picture below.
...
When I start to see it I try all desperate attempts to get rid of the problem such as reloading the aircraft, Refreshing scenary or anything alike. I then try to switch to window mode then back to full screen and I get a completely black screen and cannot reload back into the FSX atall; i.e. forcing me to end the task in order to get out of it. I have recently done another reinstall after getting myself a Raptor and I am still getting the same issue after a completely clean reinstall. I have tried various different aircraft and all I have tried result me either only seeing my own aircraft insides like the picture above... or me seeing the insides of anyone else's aircraft.

NOTE: this happens after about 2 mins minimum since spawning in the busier scenaries and could be about 3 hours since spawning in the less busier scenaries.

Any ideas what could be causing this, Im thinking it could be a memory dumping issue maybe.

Yeah Its find ... 72 is the highest for the CPU according to intel, I Thnks it could run alot higher than that without problems (upto 80 i think) but it would decrease the life of the chip.

Im still thinking maybe its a memory issue, any other thoughts anyone ?

I experienced very similar video problems (and worse) until I added this recently discovered fix to fsx.cfg:

[GRAPHICS]
HIGHMEMFIX=1

Hope it works for you,

It may also be the video driver.
I have seen the same thing happen in rFactor. It is video driver related with that game. Some drivers cause it, most don't.

For what its worth, I am using the 182.50 with a GTX 285. No issues at all in any games, even though that driver is over a year old. IMO, It is among the last of the really good ones from NV.

Thanks for your replys,  I will start by adding the fix mentioned to the fsx.cfg as mentioned above. If I get another I shall then resort to Rolling back the driver. Is there a place where I can download older drivers for Nvidia Cards?
I will let you know of the cause of the problem in the next 24hours.

Here you go;

Don't worry it says for Vista, many Win7 x64 users are using this one. It is perfectly fine with Win7 Wink

I have just Tried using the fsx.cfg tweak and had no luck, I was still getting the issue, I have also just tried the brand new driver from Nvidia (released in the past couple of days) and was still getting the same issue again, I am downloading an older driver now and Will be testing that. But for now I have just uploaded some more photos of my experience. What I see in each of the following screenshots is different because I changed from full screen to windowed mode several times... each time giving it time it load

That indeed looks like a graphics problem - what's the graphic-temp? Maybe the old driver will sort it out, too...

Hi again

I hope the older driver will help, but now I am not so sure it is the same issue I have seen with rFactor before.
The shot in your first post does look similar, but not the ones in your post today.
I don't recall if the FSX disk has any .net, dx or c++ components, but if it does, did you run them too?
Many games need those to be run when they are included with the game. If FSX has any, it may help to run them, if you haven't.

One thing I would try, would be to run FurMark to stress test my gpu. It will let you know if there are any errors.

post your settings in FSX. Using nhancer? Have yo0u set your system up according to:
http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=34141&PID=198187#198187?

Do that and post back please.

I was having a similar problem where the ground textures turned black, in stead of the blue in your shot.  It ended up being that directx had somehow been corrupted.  Re-installing of directx did not fix the problem.  Rebuilding the OS was what worked for me.  It was a big pain to do since I had so many files that I needed to back up and it took a long time to rebuild from the original xp install disk and all of the patches.  But in the end it was worth it cause it solved the problem.

One question for you;  Do you happen to have COD:WaW installed and do you have voice chat enabled?

I have rolled back to the 195.62 driver and now Im having no issues like thes ones above... however, now I am noticing a bad stuttering in my heavy areas where it used to be very smooth.

That FurMark test only appears to be for 32bit version.. can't find a 64bit version???

I am running DX9 and Using Nhancer According to the settings on the following link http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29430
(those setings have worked for me for over a year with no problems atall)

I dont play COD Atall, Pure FSX for me

I appreciate all of your help but Going back to an older GPU driver has cured one problem but has introduced a bad stutter where it was once very smooth

I Just managed to find a furmark 1.80 64bit on the internet and the result after 30mins of testing was max at 80 decrees. and it ran it at an average of 37FPS +/-10, Im tempted to put the new drivers in again, and see whether i get the graphics problem back again.
