Pilot crash lands on a motorway
. To be honest something that happens a couple of times a year, so not that spectacular, but a couple of the comments are worthy of remark.
"Eyewitness Nick Probert said: "He just
unsheathed
himself and ran down the road to stop the traffic from running over any bits of fuselage or the plane."
Now I have never ever heard of getting out of anything, let a loan an aircraft as unsheathing one's self. Maybe Charlie can comment. Unsheathing, well that is normally something to do with a Saturday night in my house
And
Wayne Moore
(ron)
, of the Tasmania police, would, ideally, have preferred the young pilot to come down at a different location.
"I would have hoped that he would have found somewhere else to land. Maybe the hockey oval further down here," he said.

He landed on the highway fine, then he hit the tree
Only at about 30 Km/h (15 Knots approx.) so he was fine, I got diverted from the highway only 2 days ago
He is also said to be recently accepted into the air force
BTW: IT WAS NOT BUSY
The road is never really busy, and it was Sunday morning

Believe me it does get busy here... at times
However peak hour traffic only lasts for about an hour down here (on week days), and after that, well it's usually pretty quiet!
