Till the VRS SuperbugX is released, April 8th. If some of you couldn't tell I've been waiting for this one for quite some time. It is shaping up to be one of the best aircraft addons for FSX to date. And for those who missed it you can download the 370 page manual from here.

Cool

And if Andy is reading this, I WILL force you to buy this aircraft. Cheesy

Then this aircraft should be no trouble for you then. Grin Would be great flying online with this aircraft, don't you think?

370 pages, and it's not complete yet. Wink

If you want a truly comprehensive manual for the addon, you'll need to actually get a copy of the F/A-18E/F NATOPS Smiley

I'm not gonna lie, but the development team didn't exactly have the (more or less) year long beta that they had for the FS9 release. From what I understand, the team is working around the clock to get it spotless for release, but that probably will not happen.

But of course, there will be service packs. Hopefully though, in 5 day's time, all the major issues will be stamped out, and you won't notice what's left until you read the fix list for SP1 Smiley

It's almost here.  Since I don't have FSX, I want to see some screenies as soon as you get her all loaded up.   Smiley

Just ordered my fresh-off-the-line FS X VRS Superbug. Price was $49.95. Can't wait to get flying this afternoon when I return home from work.

It really comes down to, what type of flying do you prefer to do? Or perhaps price is a factor?

I like all types of flying, and I can afford both.

What is the superbug like? Does if or can it be flown by the book?
Easy to use auto pilot unlike the default?
Wish I could get both...
Oh well I guess once my pay check comes I will get one of them and next pay check the other.

I think you will be satisfied with either product. The Hornet is designed to be flown by the book. Everything is completely functional as in the real aircraft and the only parts that aren't modeled are still classified by the US Navy. Some FSX exclusive features:

*Completely reworked external and internal (VC) models with additional geometry and reduced draw-calls.
*New advanced skinned-mesh animations.
*Missile smoke trails and plume effects.
*HUD NVG mode for VFR through-the-HUD night vision in any conditions.
*Custom landing lights which illuminate not only the ground, but objects and auto-gen.
*New highly dynamic g-induced and mach vapor effects.
*A completely redone FSX-native material set including improved weathering and baking, specular, and bump mapping.
*7 cockpit-selectable strobe patterns modeled on the exact same frequencies used in the real aircraft.
*Model-based exterior lighting with fresnel flaring.
*Acceleration compatible carrier operations.
*Full-screen HUD replaces 2D panel (no 2D instrument panel is available in the FSX version).

Every Navy squadron livery is re-produced. And the soundset is absolutely brilliant. Cool

Perhaps these shots may help you make your decision. Grin
