Hello Chums...

Anyone who is using the Saitek (or CH) Rudder Pedals...>>>

Pedalling!

Is it possible to disengage the coupling linkage between the pedals to use the same pedals for Driving Simulation; ie, independent "Accelerator and Brake", instead of linked, alternate action, "Rudder" use?

Cheers!

Paul...18 Wheels of Steel...and and twin Air Horns!... Wink....!

If you mean making one move and the other not at the same time, not sure. Maybe if you open it up and do a little adjusting.
Why not use toe breaks for that tho?

I haven't obtained any Pedals, yet... Wink...!

I'm making my enquiry before I waste over £100 for them...and then find it cannot be done!... Cry... Cry... Cry...!

The Pedal specifications don't readily indicate that this can be done!

Paul...(With lots of Truck driving simulators...as well as Aeroplanes!)..... Grin...!

I have a Trust Steering wheel and pedals, (£25) but the Pedals are of poor quality, and not very effective.

Meep-Meep!

You might try this with your question uksupport@madcatz.com  Looks like a US email address but last time I used it, a guy in England responded.

Quite a number on Simmers here own Rudder Pedals, and I assume that someone here may know if the Manufacturers enabled a simple adjustment to them, to disengage the coupling linkage, to make them suitable for Driving Simulators?

The giant dial in the middle appears to control the dampening to make it easier or harder to push the pedals. I'm not sure if that can fully lock up.

One of my favourite questions about this bit of hardware is 'do you need these to control the brake and thrust of your plane?'.

Paul,

I don't own these pedals but I did look at a set in a store a while back.  My general impression of them was that they were very "gamey" and flimsy in construction when compared to even the CH pedals.

From a cursory overview of the general design... I'd certainly guess that they are not able to be "unlinked".  But that is a guess from a fast "look see".

I hope this helps... and I HOPE that someone who owns a set chimes in here soon for you.

best,

Ta, John.... Wink...!

I am beginning to suspect that not very many of our Flight Simmers actually own a set of Rudder Pedals, (or Flight Yoke, etc), due to the enormous expense of them!.... Shocked...!

Pedals like the CH Pedals appear to me to be very expensive for a metal plate containing two pedals operating a couple of Potentiometers!
The plastic "Driving Pedals" (Accelerator and Brake), are similar in construction, and cost but a few Pounds...and include a Steering Wheel, to boot!... Roll Eyes...!

It looks as though I will need to "upgrade" my present £25 "Trust" Steering Wheel and Pedals for another set with more suitable Pedals.....

Thanks, Brando... Wink...!

I was hoping that the Manufacturers had designed them so that they could be used either for Rudder Pedals for Flight Simulators, or Accelerator and Brake Pedals for Driving Simulators by disengaging the interconnecting linkage between them.

Never mind. It looks as though I will have to use the Steering Wheel and Pedal arrangement for my Truck Simulators.

Paul.............I have the Saitek pedals and they appear to be strictly back and forth, using some mechanical method to move the potentiometer to it's travel limits.  They aren't very realistic for aircraft use and would probably be less so for auto.  While researching, I found several home-built units that could have met my needs had I the expertise.  With your electical/electronics background, it might be worth a Google.
