From Spike Milligan, Freddie Starr to Eddie Izzard, Brits have been on the cutting edge of humor.  Witness the Pythons, Fry and Laurie and the inimicable Jennifer and Dawn.  I watch the entire 'Black Adder' series at least once each year and to remind me of my roots, a few from Billy Connelly.  Something to be said for a stiff upper lip  .
