This may be a difficult question to answer but....

Where/What do you get your ideas and inspiration for certain screenshots from?
In other words, what gives you the idea to set up the aircraft in a certain environment/scenario?

Sometimes I'll browse Airliners or Google Images for inspiration. Sometimes I look at photos I've taken from airshows to see what's going on.

That is for layout anyway. I try to keep some realism to my shots so if it has been proved in a photo, I can be fairly certain it won't look 'off' in a screenshot so long as I take it well.

For the final edit that is just random on each shot, but I think there's a definate style for every editor out there. Mine typically seems to have some kind of shiny light enhancement, depth of field (or other blurring) and often the colours are made less saturated. Often I finish it off with some grain just to make it look more like a digital photo with a higher ISO number. I just try to do whatever I can to enhance the image and I have no set instructions I follow, I merely do what I think my shot requires.

Hard question to answer Sean. Sometimes I get inspired by a shot someone else posts; sometimes it something somebody says. But to be honest, a lot of them just come out of thin air. I have no idea how or why they occur to me. The last edit I posted, Join the Air Force, started out from choosing a photo I had downloaded a while back. Then I loaded the sim and started trying to decide on aircraft. I started out with a Hustler but changed to the Galaxy because of a problem with the afterburners. It seems that all my afterburner equipped aircraft are only working on the starboard side. Which reminds me I wanted to post in FS2004 for help with that. And as FF said, I look at a lot of your shots and get ideas.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
